SUMMARY:For Melise - Farewell concert for Melise Mellinger
DESCRIPTION:A truly exceptional talent with an unwavering passion for new music\, but also a personality of profound sincerity\, warmth and wit\, violinist Melise Mellinger has been a cornerstone of Recherche since the ensemble’s creation in 1985. In this regard\, the contribution that she has made to the culture of contemporary music is almost beyond compare – indeed\, it is hard to imagine anyone engaged in our field who hasn’t heard her perform\, if not in concert then through the countless recordings – many of which are now seen as definitive versions – on which she appears. But alas\, at the conclusion of our 23/24 season\, Melise\, the last remaining founding member of Recherche\, will take her leave from the ensemble. \nIn this farewell concert\, we will try our best to let the focus be not on the sadness of parting ways but rather on celebrating forty years of exceptional music-making by one of the greats in our milieu. \nThe programme will comprise a variety of styles\, including new works composed especially for the occasion. \n  \n\nENSEMBLE RECHERCHE \nMelise Mellinger\, violin
