Fire, water, earth, air – a sounding cosmos, and humanity, surrounded by it all.
Inspired by the antique notion of the “Music of the Spheres” which permeates the universe, the concert Miteinander Hören(Listening together) is dedicated to our relationship to our environment. Nature, chaos and harmony take centre stage in this multisensory concert experience, which weaves together music and dance, past and present, and humans and their environment.
Initiated by the Freiburger Barockorchester, this project creates a space, where old and new music meet. Music is not just listened to but also experienced. Lively concurrence of historical sounds and modern creativity emerges.
This special concept also encourages the exploration and shaping of one’s concertexperience by moving around the concerthall and by switching up the perspective. The concert creates a chance for the audience to experience the concert actively.
A mixture of young children with multi-abled hearing are an important part of the project. With them, a choreography is created. The choreography accompanies the music and movements created become audible – or does the music become visible ? The connection between sounds and the body creates new possibilities for our perception and bridges the old with the new.
The highlight of Miteinander Hören is the premiere of a new piece by Kathrin Denner, composed specially for this project – a new perspective on listening together and an artistic pitch for an open and diverse future.
With works by
Kathrin Denner and other contemporary and baroque composers.
