In the special year “Bach300 – 300 years Bach in Leipzig”, the Leipzig Bach Archive had invited the Baden-Württemberg ensemble academy from Freiburg and the Belgian vocal ensemble Vox Luminis in order to host the one-off Bach300 Summer Class in Leipzig. The three internationally renowned and specialised ensembles Freiburger Barockorchester, Ensemble Recherche and Vox Luminis aim at connecting their main focus areas in old and new music and, with their experience, at enriching the work and performances of three Bach cantatas and chamber music reaching from baroque to contemporary music. The main focus of Vox Luminis in this course is J. S. Bach’s vocal music and excerpts from Florilegium Portense.
Bach300 Summer Class in ensemble practice of old and new music
From 7th until 16th of August, three Bach cantatas will be acquired upon other works with teachers from the three internationally renowned and specialised ensembles Ensemble Recherche, Freiburger Barockorchester and Vox Luminis as part of the Bach300 Summer Class.
Besides the coexistence of different styles and eras, the focus will be on mutual artistic inspiration. The possibility for instrumentalists to take part in both the course of the Freiburger Barockorchester as well as Ensemble Recherche and to be able to attend the lessons of other participants is unique.
The number of spots for the Bach300 summer class is limited. A decision on the admission to participate will be made based upon the artistic ability. The application deadline is 21st of May 2023. Applications are solely possible via muvac.
